Kalt has been working according to the principles of lean management for years. All processes aim at the complete fulfillment of external and internal customer requirements and the minimization of waste. The integration of lean management into our company culture directly benefits our customers in the form of short lead times, consistent quality, delivery reliability, and competitive prices.
Highest quality in all areas – that is Kalt’s goal. In order to live up to this claim, we had ourselves independently certified according to ISO 9001 (quality management) as early as 2006. The certification is a seal of quality for the good management and clearly defined business processes at Kalt.
Our mechanical engineers and cheese experts work hand in hand to further develop Kalt cheese processing technology in a targeted manner. In doing so, they also make use of the wealth of ideas of the entire company, as all employees regularly contribute practical suggestions as part of the continuous improvement process. In this way, we develop individually applicable cold systems with which our customers can produce cheese of the highest quality under perfect hygienic conditions.
Our cheese experts have learned cheese making from scratch. They know the requirements for an optimal production process, which includes milk treatment, cheese curd production, filling and pressing, treatment in the salt bath and care in the ripening store. Thus, they understand the needs and wishes of our customers. On this basis, they work together with our mechanical engineers in the planning of the systems and support our customers on site in the optimal use and fine-tuning of your cold system.

Our company, based in Lütisburg in eastern Switzerland, exports its machines and systems all over the world. The technology is manipulated in traditional cheese dairies as well as in industrial production plants. The company’s approximately 100 employees work day after day to tailor Kalt systems to the individual needs of demanding customers and to use the latest technology for this purpose. In this way, Kalt improves and makes perfect automated cheese production and strengthens the competitiveness of its customers.
